Interested organizations should ask an Atlas Free Team member about the membership process.

Atlas Free guides its Network Members to become better at what they are already doing by resourcing and accelerating them. Atlas Free does not take a Board of Directors seat or leadership position within a Network Member’s organization.

All Atlas Free Network Members meet a series of Essential Standards in five categories:

  • Administration
  • Programming focused on Impact
  • Governance and Policies
  • Finance
  • Training

A detailed list of the Essential Standards can be found here. All Network Members must annually demonstrate that they meet and maintain these minimum standards.

Atlas Free is committed to combating sex trafficking. The majority of Network Members’ programming should directly impact sex trafficking. Programs focused on generalized poverty alleviation, community development, care for at-risk populations, and vulnerability reduction efforts should not represent the majority of the Network Member’s work. Each program should intervene, prevent, advocate, or disrupt sex trafficking.

Atlas Free is dedicated to measurable impact. Therefore, Network Members provide Atlas Free with clear, concise, and accurate reporting about their programs, operations, and finances once a year. Additional reporting accompanies Atlas Free’s funding streams.

Yes. Network Members can use the Atlas Free Network seal as a validator on their website, fundraising, and promotional materials.

No. Although network membership does not automatically trigger funding, Network Members can apply for Atlas Free’s various funding opportunities.

No. Atlas Free will welcome organizations into the network that meet Atlas Free’s Essential Standards. There is no faith requirement for network membership.

Sometimes. Atlas Free believes holistic programs that integrate faith are in the best position to provide direct services and trauma-informed care to survivors. For that reason, Atlas Free divides funding requests into two categories.

  • Direct Services

There are faith-based and non-faith-based Network Members that provide direct services to survivors. Atlas Free prioritizes programs providing direct services to survivors with faith integration when making Kinetic, Impact, and Rapid Response funding decisions. Although this prioritization is meaningful and important, it is not absolute.

  • Other Programming

For programs that do not involve direct services like policy, research, law enforcement capacity building, demand reduction, prevention, etc., Atlas Free does not prioritize faith-based organizations when making funding decisions.

All Network Members, regardless of faith integration, have access to all Network Services. Also, non-faith-based direct service providers are welcome to participate in the U.S. Referral System and receive survivor placements.

Atlas Free reserves the right to refuse or cancel a membership. Atlas Free Network Members also can decide to cancel their membership at any time.

If you would like to proceed with canceling your membership, please send an email to membership@atlasfree.org.
